The grapes originate from the selected vineyard Vrh, located in the Vipolže village. This is a terraced merlot vineyard with a classic marl soil, where, for the last decade, vines have been cultivated according to the principles of sustainable production. As soon as the grapes were harvested and transferred to the winery, they were destemmed and placed in a small wooden fermentor, where they were macerated for 15 days at a temperature of 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. Once macerated and fermented, the wine was decanted into French barrique barrels, where it matured for 2 years. During this, 40% of new barrels was used.
Wine is of dark ruby red colour and has a purple hue. You can smell ripe berries, oriental spices, a slightly balsamic note, and tobacco, which is supplemented with a taste of vanilla. With a full and balanced taste, the wine is fresh and warm and boasts a long noble finish with a velvety aftertaste.
Served cooled at 16° – 18°C. We recommend it with venison or with medallions in plum sauce.
